Job Title: Liberal Arts Teacher

Chesterton Academy of St. James, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school, is seeking a talented and dynamic full-time Liberal Arts teacher to join our team starting in the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful applicant will report to CASJ’s Headmaster. Part time options may also be available.

Who are we?

Chesterton Academy of St. James, a joyfully Catholic, Classical High School, is a part of a network of independent high schools around the world following the Chesterton Academy model and accredited by the Chesterton Schools Network (CSN) offering a rigorous, integrated curriculum centered on the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. Focusing on the classics, the school develops complete thinkers who learn to draw on faith and reason for the purpose of building a culture of life. Our classical curriculum combines a broad, liberal arts education with a strong emphasis on developing Christian virtues and an appreciation of beauty. We make it our mission to prepare our students to triumph over the materialism and despair that pervade our culture and accept our Lord's offer to have life and have it abundantly.

Our mission is to assist parents in fostering their children’s growth
in the theological, intellectual, and moral virtues.

The Chesterton Academy of St. James is located on the beautiful campus of St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, CA, which is just south of San Francisco, within Silicon Valley, and within the Archdiocese of San Francisco. His Excellency Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, when asked about the new school, said:

"Truth, Beauty, and Goodness, this is what a classically liberal Catholic education is all about. In my experience, schools like the new Chesterton Academy of Saint James form souls capable of withstanding the acid bath of the culture we are in because they fire the imagination to perceive the spiritual realities underlying our material world."
